M.T.S. - Simple Steps towards Safe Shooting.
Muzzle
- Don’t point an airgun towards anyone, ever!
- Be aware of where you are pointing the Muzzle of the airgun at all times.
- When an airgun is in your possession always point it in a safe direction, preferably pointing to the floor but away from your feet.
Trigger
- Always keep your finger away from the trigger outside the trigger guard.
- Only place you finger on the trigger once the Muzzle of the airgun is pointing at the intended target and you have started to aim.
Safety
- Always remember the best safety is between your ears! Use common sense and follow safe gun handling at all times.
- Be certain of the safety of where you are shooting and the backstop for your targets. Always make certain that the area is clear of people, pets, and anything else that isn’t safe to shoot at.
- Make sure that people know you are shooting and that any access to the area, particularly behind the backstop is secure.
- Check the condition of your backstop, ensuring that it can stop every pellet and, if you are unsure, replace it before shooting.
